Apocalypse Always ! Endless war,Countless Deaths and Rising Suicide Rates in ‘murica’s Military

soldier“war is the health of the state”Randolph Bourne

The health of the state, Not the health of the people residing within the state and that is the problem. war is real and there are real consequences to it. It’s not a video game or a movie, nor should it be glorified as such.

The problem is that there are absolutely no personal consequences for our political masters when the enter our nation into war. They personally do not suffer reprisals. Any time any president has ordered troops to go fight in a part of the world, he does not fear for his life, he is not going to foreign lands with guns and because of this the Lords of Washington have absolutely no incentive to avoid conflicts.  They send young poor people to die for their problems. They don’t care about that, for those people are just pawns in a chess game to them. They only care about one thing: expanding their power control &influence in the world, no matter what. It is a  “game of thrones” that has been raging on throughout history, one empire passing the baton on to the next, to scorch the earth for as long as they can, until their time runs out and they leave the ashes of a dying world to the next suckers who will be the ones to pay for it.

Only a knowledgeable public willing to speak truth to power and stand up for what’s right can end the cycle of war.

we’ve come to accept it as a normal thing and that’s the problem. The Hobbesian myth that life is short, brutal and cruel is wrong. Hobbes essentially viewed all humans as  sociopaths, and that’s not true, it’s a small ammount of the population, Those are the one that aspire to be in government that are the sociopaths. this thing called “government” grants them special privalleges and allows them to act morally different than the rest of us. And we allow them to drag us into wars and conflicts around the globe that put innocent lives in real danger at home and abroad.

For some weird reason we’ve accept their rule over us. We accept this false illusion of political authority. That is dangerous and deadly. We accept that there are leaders, and they are looking out for us, but that’s just not the case. Especially when it comes to war. They only care about destruction and domination, by any means necessary. They are acting in ways that no regular person would ever act, they do things that no decent moral person would do. Yet we say it’s ok, we allow it. Why? Because our perception of the world is distorted. They way humans behave is a reflection of how they perceive their environment. The establishment power makes sure that the environment is controlled, akin to that of a lab rat in cage. We’re only fed what they want us to eat, exposed to what they want us to be exposed to. Of course they can’t control everything and I’m glad to be publishing this post, but I fear with the recent power grab from the FCC ,with net neutrality that we could be headed down a dark path. Most people have been conditioned to be complainant with the status quo. Whatever they see and hear from the political and media class, they believe and they don’t think any further into it, because its easy. someone else is handling it, someone’s is doing the thinking for me, why should I care?  you should care because you have blood on your hands. we all do. That sounds heavy, but its true, whether you are aware of it or We’re engulfed in propaganda  24/7 365. Most people don’t realize it because they don’t have time to think or read or investigate or question what the supposed “experts” tell them. They’re too busy working. However while you are going about your day on autopilot, your subconscious mind is downloading all the info in the background , so you go to work, maybe Fox News or MSNBC is on in the background, and you get a little bit of that, you watch a football game and they’re honoring the troops or signing the national anthem, newspapers, magazines, billboards, advertisements, commercials on tv, airports, grocery stores, movies etc… It’s an endless propaganda parade of pro military, pro war, America is the best, we are the good guys and the rest of the world is an evil and scary place. It’s all part of the plan. You can’t have endless war with out consent from the people, whether its enthusiastic or tacit. Our Acceptance of authority’s war monegering comes  from a sort of mass stolkhom syndrome that seems to be  omnipresent in today’s society. As Murray Rothbard puts it :

“The State thrives on war – unless, of course, it is defeated and crushed – expands on it, glories in it. For one thing, when one State attacks another State, it is able through this intellectual bamboozlement of the public to convince them that they must rush to the defense of the State because they think the State is defending them.

In other words, if let’s say, Paraguay and Brazil are going to get into a war, each State – the Paraguayan government and the Brazilian government – is able to convince their own subjects that the other government is out to get them and loot them and murder them in their beds and so forth, so they are able to induce their own hapless subjects to fight against the other State, whereas in actual practice, of course, it is the States that have the quarrel, not the people. The people are outside the quarrels of the State and yet the State is able to generate this patriotic mass war hysteria and to call everybody up to the colors physically and spiritually and economically and therefore, of course, aggrandize State power permanently.”

whether it’s a democrat in office or a republican the one thing that never Changes is war. It’s always a new threat popping up here a new rebel group there, new terosrists. And it never ends  because as I said earlier , “war is the health  of the state” War is all they have. Fear is their only tool. It doesn’t have to be this way. But in my 30 years of life, war has been non stop. We have grown so a custom to  living in a state of perpetual war and yet somehow we don’t feel it, we don’t see it, hear it, taste it,its seems so separate and distant from us all now. Its become this other thing that somehow doesn’t permeate into the collective consciousness of the culture. is it possible that we’ve accepted endless war as the norm?  what kind of sick society  could accept such a thing, that cant be true, can it?  sadly it is. as one of my favorite humans ever, the brilliant zen philosopher Alan watts puts it this way;  ” we live in a culture that is more accepting of  images of violence than of images of love.he elaborates on this more and then goes on to conclude by saying  ”  Expressions of physical love are more dangerous than expressions of physical hate. and it seems to be that a culture that has that sort of assumption is basically crazy,”

so are we crazy ?

It According to a recent article published on lewrockwell.com  “America has been at war 93% of the time that it has existed as a country. That’s  222 years out of the 239 years since the birth of the nation in 1776. “ you can find the article here with a list of every year and war from 1776-2015 http://www.lewrockwell.com/2015/02/no_author/perpetual-war-2/ Some people would say that war is a necessary evil, that we need to stop bad people from doing bad things. But why are they bad people? Why are they doing bad things and why do we need to stop them? They never seem to think, what if we are the bad people? What if we are the ones that are doing the bad things? is it unfair to view the united states military action and foreign interventionism from the perspective of the people on the other side? of course not but it is way more difficult when our media and political class stir up massive fear of the other, dehumanizing them as they have weather its calling them gooks in Vietnam or towel-heads in Iraq or as Chris Kyle the famous American mass murderer called them :  “savages”  I bet its easier to kill people when you don’t view them as people.Make them the devil spawn and then justify your work as the the work of god right? Christians like to cherry pick their beliefs it seems and by doing so are cowards, people of no morals or principles and as far as I’m concerned that makes them  the true savages.  thou shall not kill…unless the giant land mass that you live on forms some abstract thing called a nation and they tell you its ok, then kill all you want” that’s what it says right? And I believe it was the words of Jesus christ that said “ do onto others as you would have done onto you…unless a bunch of men in suits with professional sounding titles like commander in chief and general tell you otherwise. And totally forget about that dumb ass saying “ before judging someone else, try walking a mile in their shoes”, no, no, no you are not allowed to look at things from the perspective of another person. You cant think that way, you cant have that opinion because “this is ‘murica son, and I’ll be god dammed if I stand by and listen to this, I didn’t fight in dubbaya dubbaya two for you to talk this way about your country.” War is not a necessary evil, it is just plain evil. How is war necessary ? War is the act of killing people for political means, power, resources, money and control. What the hell does that have anything to do with the average person ? throughout history wars were seen as conflicts fought only among the big power structures, having no public support or cheerleading from its people. Only recently  we’ve been brainwashed to blindly obey the war machine and just rattle off stupid meaningless sayings ” gotta support the troops” ” you can’t talk that way about the military” ” ” there fighting for  our freedom” ” fighting for democracy” it’s all a bunch of bullshit.  War is murder. And if it’s not ok for a regular person to kill someone then what makes it ok for the government to? Why do we allow these people the authority they have over us? well, for one they have all the weapons. but is that morally just? NO of course not. It’s just murder on a larger scale. That’s it. War is barbaric and anti-intellectual. Its much easier to punch someone in the face during an argument, than it is to form a well thought out opinion to debate. We were all taught as children not to hit another kid or steal their toys. Every single parent and teacher delivers this message to kids during their time served in youth prison. All During our brainwashing and indoctrination  in public school, at least we had  good moral principles espoused to us. Don’t hit anyone, don’t hurt anyone, don’t steal etc.. So why on earth does some group of people that call themselves the government have an exception to this?  are they somehow greater beings than the rest of us? what gives them the exception? It just becomes suddenly ok to do because a group of people decided that if they disguise it all in fancy rhetoric and dress up in suits, its fine?  I feel like the typical statist person or govt. politician would say something like this :  “Well, we have to make sacrifices for the greater good, in order to protect our citizens,  you see it’s very complicated and there are many facets and circumstances that are difficult and as last resort we have to ensure the safety of the citizens so we have to defend ourselves and do what’s necessary and blah blah “ yeah right. Last resort. So we’ve been using last resort tactics only when necessary for 222 years out of 239 of our nations existence. How many men women and children have been subjected to conscription, violence, death dismemberment & torture? How many human beings have been bulldozed into the scrap heap of our bloody  history ? Just a pile of statistics thrown into the American war machines human meat grinder. This is real, not a movie or some bullshit lies you see in history books. We don’t feel it because we don’t want to feel it, were like a victim of domestic abuse that doesn’t want to confront the truth or admit the facts. I do not support the military, I do not support the troops, whatever the hell that idiotic phrase means. You know what I support? Peace, love, understanding, nature, sympathy, compassion, rationalism, logic, freedom, liberty , humor & happiness. It is our nature to be this way. We are born out of this world this way. every child is born perfect, to live on this beautiful earth in love and harmony, with an undersatnding of oneself, others and the envirmoent. It is only through government propaganda and fear mongering  that our minds are reprogrammed to think that we live in a brutal savage cruel and unforgiving world. But it is the very people who are afraid the most, that claim to do bad things in the name of good becasue they are affraid to be mortal, affraid of their own humanity, they feel the need to control their enviroment and control everything in their lives no matter what, in some hope that they will conquer death. But they wont. It’s really sad and very tragic. where did this all begin anyway? was it Washington ? Lincoln? Woodrow willson with Americas entry into ww1 ? was it FDR? LBJ?  who ? it seems they keep passing the baton to the next tyrant unless the next one doesn’t want to play ball and well, we know what happened to that guy, don’t we.

In his farewell address to the nation, President Eisenhower warned the American people to keep a careful eye on the “military-industrial complex” Eisenhower had been concerned about the growing size and cost of the Americas new well oiled war machine deceptively called the “department of defense” In his last presidential address to the American people, he expressed his concerns by saying “Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. but now we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment.( defense stablishment btw is the biggest crock of shit, we couldn’t be more on the offenssive ) We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United States corporations. This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society. In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.”

Eisenhower was merely stating the obvious. World War II and the ensuing Cold War resulted in the development of a large and powerful defense establishment. Necessary though that development might be, Eisenhower warned, this new military-industrial complex could weaken or destroy the very institutions and principles it was designed to protect. And after all that, and after the American government  lied about the gulf of tonkin incident to get us involved in Vietnam in 64 and then, iran contra, then iraq part 1, Kosovo, then lies about 9/11 to get us back to iraq and afghanastan and now syria and on and on and on. The American military is still looked at like some kind of god like entity come down from heaven and it’s idolized and worshiped like the holiest most sacred thing of all time.  Why? It’s main job is to carry out violence by means of  brute force, torture and murder. I’ll say that again, because I want it to sink in. The military’s main objective is to hurt people. To inflict extreme suffering and excruciating psychological and physical pain to massive amounts of   human beings across the world. You never see that in an advertisement for the army though right? Imagine that “ hey, join the army and help us slaughter thousands of innocents everyday” “hey citizen, ever want to extinguish a life, ever want to rob someone of their freedom, ever want to get away with murder?  Well hey join the army” It’s always some uplifting music and an ethnically diverse group of clean-looking well dressed officers helping save someone or even more disgustingly propagandist is the commercial with the young teen who confesses to his parents that he wants to join the military because he wants to do his duty to serve and help people and then his parents eventually give him their loving support. They never show the part where they are killing people or blowing up villages or returning home in a body bag or with missing limbs or not being able to sleep at night because of PTSD, or hey how about  the suicide rate among veterans, they never show that right?  You never see a young teen in uniform coming home from the war, greeting his family and friends on sunny day while god bless America plays in the background, then you see a garage door being opened and a silhouette of a man standing with a rope in his hands, then they zoom in on the rope being tied, then  feet standing on a chair and then the chair gets kicked out and the feet dangle  while  the  and home of the brave part of the song  gets sung and a faded waving American flag comes into focus while the narrator says “the many, the suicidal, the military”  they never show that side of it. They never talk about the reality.

In a January 9th 2014 article by Stars and Stripes at stripes.com claims “the number of young veterans committing suicide jumped dramatically from 09-11 but the rate of veteran suicides over that 3 year period remained largely unchanged. new suicide  data released by the department of veterans affairs reports that about 22 veterans a day take their own life. 22 ! Specifically male veterans under 30.”  22 veterans kill themselves everyday ! ? That’s very shocking and I checked multiple sources to confirm the number. It’s accurate. In an interview with Amy Goodman from  Democracy Now, former marine, Matthew Hoh tells her “More than two of those veterans every day who kill themselves are Iraq or Afghanistan veterans. Those numbers will climb as those veterans get older. But what that means for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans is that more veterans have killed themselves after coming home from Iraq or Afghanistan than have been killed in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan. And as I said, we can expect those numbers to climb. The things I have seen, I have been—it has been explained to me that over the course of our lifetime, Iraq and Afghanistan vets, one in five veterans who saw combat in Iraq or Afghanistan, will attempt to kill themselves” So what does that look like in total. So from 09-11, 22 suicides a day, 22 x 365 days a year = 8,030 a year, 8,030 veteran suicides a year from 2009- 2011 ! 8,030 x 3 years =  24,090 veterans that committed suicide in 3 years. Let’s put that number into perspective, shall we. Total number of deaths on 9/11 = 2,996  (that includes the 19 hijackers too) Total number of soldiers killed in Afghanistan = 2,201 + 1,173 U.S civilian contractor fatalities from groups like black water etc.. = total number of Americans killed : 3,374 this data is from 2001-2014, so 13 years. Total number of soldiers killed in Iraq = 4,491 data is from 2003- 2014 Total number of United States military casualties from the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan from 2001-2014 = 6,692 + the private civilian contractors = 7,865 total. That’s over 13 years ! That still doesn’t come close to the number of veterans that kill themselves.  This data is insane. There’s an average of 605 deaths per year in the war on terror. So let’s take the 3 years from the suicide data and compare. There’s an average of 8, 030 deaths a year from veteran suicides. that’s MORE THAN 13 TIMES THE AMOUNT OF DEATHS PER YEAR FROM SUICIDE THAN FROM SOLDIERS KILLED IN ACTION! What the hell is wrong with that number ? More soldiers take their own life than are killed in battle an that’s a sad, disturbing fact of modern American Warfare. So the next time someone tells you to “support the troops” tell them that you support them by strongly opposing their service because you value their life.

Do to fall for propogandized advertising and fancy rhetoric. The military will use clever wording and say things like “fighting for freedom” “fighting for peace”  and all those stupid things that are more backwards than anything I can think of. lets take  Fighting for freedom as an example. How do you dare  justify the murder of other human begins in the name of freedom? If anything it’s the complete opposite, because you are taking away their freedom. It’s the most ludicrous statement in the world. The government is allowed to do things that if we ourselves did in our private life would be criminal. Murder is morally wrong. No matter if it’s a thug stabbing a person or a president sending troops overseas to kill’, it’s the same. We need more people to stand up to this so called authority we call. “The governemtn” and day no to murder. The  state fears its own people more than anyone else, that’s why all the propaganda is aimed at us. That’s why patriotism and national pride is drilled into us since birth, thats why this hero worshiping of our military is so ubiquitous. We can do something to change this reality. All it takes is civil disobedience. It’s soldiers refusing to kill, voters refusing to vote , people refuse to pay the taxes that fund these trillion dollar wars. Making a decsion to actively participate in doing good is a lot harderto do. It’s much easier to passively resign to a live a life of ignorance and comfort, but it’s  the morally right thing to do for us living here now and for our future generations to come. If war is the health of the state, then our goal must be to deprive them of their health.
